Gameplay Tips and Details on the Summer Fun Hitting Outbreak: Shades of Horror
Hello Survivors! I’m Julia Wolbach, and I’m catching some rays while I tell you about this summer’s content update for our ongoing survival horror title Outbreak: Shades of Horror. The free update is now available on XBOX Series X|S and XBOX Play Anywhere (XPA).

Summer Fun in Cypress Ridge
The heat is on in Cypress Ridge, and the undead are dressed to sweat! We’ve added brand new scenarios, cosmetics, and a juicy game-crossover with the upcoming neon nightmare Railbreak DX and the dino-infused rampage Tailbreak. Inflate your swimmies, strap on your goggles, and return to your favorite horror getaway!

A Grizzly Dinosaur Safari for the Ages
Tailbreak is an epic retelling of our retro horror title Dinobreak, and Outbreak: Shades of Horror sends you on a themed vacation with two new scenarios based on the upcoming on-rails shooter. Fight your way out of Cypress Ridge in an escalating, non-linear Raid Mode adventure with new enemies such as the poison raptor that has a high chance to put you into a weakened state where you will become stunned and drained of health and stamina over time. You’ll need to find a steady supply of Blue Sprouts and other healing items to last the journey and keep your infection level from spiraling out of control!
But that’s not all! There are also new threats included from Railbreak DX such as the Glitched Hack n’ Slash, a neon glowing dual chainsaw wielding monstrosity that is incredibly aggressive and heavily resistant to being stunned or slowed down. To take on such an advanced threat, you’ll need to find and use the upgraded Gatling Gun, a two-handed belt-fed dispenser of pain that can suppress and eliminate the most dangerous threats. The non-linear gameplay in both scenarios allows you to approach the experience from several different methods, some that may even allow you to skip a few of the more brutal threats if you’re clever enough!

Beat the Heat with Ice Cool Fits
It’s the time of year where everyone breaks out their beach gear and bathing suits, and the world of Outbreak: Shades of Horror is no exception to this rule. Discover a new set of unlockable cosmetics including Japan-inspired summer masks and other new goodies to customize your Survivor with. The entire Cypress Reel movie theater hub has even been transformed for the summer! Right now is a fantastic time to pick a new character and experience their play-style, weapon load-out, and more!

Cross-Platform Progress and Online Co-Op Through XBOX Play Anywhere
Outbreak: Shades of Horror recently received a major update to enable XBOX Play Anywhere across console, PC, cloud, and handheld. All of your characters, cosmetics, high scores, and more are with you no matter where you play, so your quest doesn’t have to stop while you’re relaxing at your favorite resort. The game supports cross-platform online co-op multiplayer, so you can fight alongside your squad on PC and other consoles! Meet your friends wherever they are, and also make sure you take a dive through the cutting-edge visuals game has to offer on high-end PC and XBOX Series X hardware!

The Nightmare Never Ends
The immersive world of Outbreak: Shades of Horror continues to expand, so prepare yourself for more game-crossovers and seasonal events coming soon. Tailbreak launches August 7 and Railbreak DX launches September 4, both on XBOX Series X|S with XPA, and pre-orders available July 21, so don’t forget to wishlist both titles. Until next time, enjoy the sand between your toes, and keep on surviving!
