The People and Places of Inaba – A Persona 4 Revival Tour Guide
On a rainy day, turn off your TVs and set your alarms for midnight, because Persona 4 Revival is on its way! As announced during XBOX Games Showcase, Persona 4 Revival is coming February 18, 2027 – a full reimagining of the acclaimed RPG originally released in 2012, featuring enhanced visuals, improved gameplay, modern aesthetics and quality-of-life updates that bring the classic to life like never before.
Although there’s still a ways to go before your return to Inaba, we have plenty of exciting reveals and announcements planned over the next eight months. But to give you a head start, if you want to learn more about the sights and local haunts, read on!
About Inaba
Our story takes place in the rural city of Inaba, Japan—a middle-of-nowhere town surrounded by rolling hills, farmlands and rivers. There’s little-to-no tourist attractions or entertainment to be found, but that’s what makes it so charming.
As long as you ignore the series of gruesome murders plaguing the town, it’s a wonderful place to visit!
Local Culture

The people of Inaba love their town, and there is a strong sense of community among its residents. You’ll find everyone here to be talkative and friendly, and they care about their own. However, I should warn you that rumors spread fast in such a small, humdrum town – so keep your secrets close to your chest!
Things to Do

Whether you’re stopping by or passing through, here are some places to visit while you’re in Inaba:
- The Central Shopping District – This quaint shopping district is lined with a bookstore, a Chinese restaurant, a shrine, and more, and has long been beloved by local residents. However, it has suffered a decline in recent years, as Junes has been drawing customers away.
- Junes – The newly opened Junes department store is a local landmark and commercial hub. Whether you’re on your way to the beach or heading home from school, Junes has everything you need!
- Samegawa Flood Plain – For the outdoorsy type, the Samegawa Flood Plain is the perfect place to catch local fish, and enjoy the peace of this quiet Japanese town.
- Shichiri Beach – If you’d rather unwind during your trip to Inaba, Shichiri Beach has the best sun and surf this side of town. However, it’s a bit of a hike, so you’ll want to grab a scooter when you head over.
- Amagi Inn – One of the most iconic locations in Inaba, the Amagi Inn is the oldest historic landmark in town. Known for its hot springs, the Inn is the perfect place to stay on your visit.
Given the unfortunate local tragedies, we recommend avoiding going out during the Midnight Hour.
In case you need it, the Inaba Municipal Hospital is accessible by bus.
People You’ll Meet

Inaba is full of colorful characters and friendly people.
- Protagonist – A second-year high school student, who, due to unfortunate circumstances with his parents, was sent to live in Inaba at the home of his uncle, Ryotaro Dojima, and his daughter Nanako.
- Yosuke Hanamura – Another local high schooler, Yosuke is the cheerful and caring strategist of the group. He’s been helping to piece together clues about the local murders and the one who brings together the deductions and opinions of team members.
- Chie Satonaka – A lively local girl who attends the local high school, Chie is a warm and empathetic person with a strong sense of justice. Oh, and she loves kung fu movies and meat.
- Yukiko Amagi – A popular student at school, Yukiko is the sole inheritor of one of the town’s long-established inns. She’s a reliable and level-headed, albeit spacey, girl who often finds herself being bailed out by her childhood friend Chie.
- Marie – A mysterious girl you encounter in Yaso-Inaba who occasionally stops through town, Marie comes across as aloof and unfriendly. However, she is also curious and proactive by nature. Rumor has it, she has a secret hobby she hasn’t told anyone about…
And More!

This is just scratching the surface of all the things you can experience in Inaba. You can do all that and more in Persona 4 Revival when it launches next year! In case you missed it, ATLUS had another exciting reveal during Sunday’s XBOX Games Showcase: the long-awaited announcement of Persona 6!
